New 2012 catalogue is almost done!

We've been working on next years' catalogue for a month or so now and it is almost done at last.

We've just been waiting for a few last things to be harvested and germination-tested. Today we went through the final draft checking all the codes and prices to make sure they match the website and shopping-cart software.

So now apart from updating the front cover ,it is ready to be sent off to Jones the Printer in Cardigan,  we've chosen a nice lemon yellow for the cover this year.   We do a different coloured cover each year so that we know at a glance if people are ordering from the right catalogue - if an order form turns up on the wrong colour paper we know in advance that the prices will all be wrong and there might be things that aren't in stock this year.
It also helps if people don't know if they have the latest catalogue or not when the phone us to request another copy, we can just ask 'do you have the green one or the yellow one?

The catalogue should be printed by the end of October and after a few days stuffing them into envelopes we'll post them out at the start of November. The website will be updated then too with the new seeds we have for you, there are some really nice new varieties.

Turnip-central.

The turnip and swede harvest is in now,   we grew a great crop of Petrowski turnips.  These are being packed in sacks of damp sawdust and stored overwinter; they'll  be planted out again next spring to flower and set seed.

We grew vast quantities - had to get the trailer  to collect them all. But it is good as we can be really picky as to size, shape etc when choosing which ones to keep for seed.
